ICYMI: Your Weekly Golf Roundup – October 16, 2021

Weekly Roundup 10/16/21
Weekly Roundup 10/16/21

Hello Saturday! Oh how I have missed you after a long week of adult responsibilities. We are heading out to shake off the weekday blues with a couple of friendly rounds and a cooler full of our favorite brewskies. The game feels like it’s going to be on point! I even have a strong feeling my friends will be buying me drinks by the end of the day. Before you head out for a little hair of the dog, here’s what you missed this week…

Stick the Landing

This lie would be incredibly stressful for most golfers. With hardly enough space for a back swing, there isn’t much hope for a decent recovery. One dude has mastered the art of thinking outside of the box. Using the fence post as a back boarding, not only does this guy make it out of a pickle, but he also manages to set up his next shot nicely.

Temptation

One of the best things about weekend golf is that you don’t feel guilty for starting your morning round off with a couple drinks. It’s a great way to shake off the preround jitters and get loose. You’re feeling good and managing to keep a great pace. Then you reach the group in front of you and can’t believe they allow people out here who play so slow. Hitting into them may sound like a good way to get them to move along, but we strongly urge you to resist the temptation.

Breaking Point

On the other hand, not every day is a good day out on the course. Sometimes you find yourself topping time after time and you can’t hit a straight shot to save your life. Let’s be honest, everyone has their breaking point. Now we won’t say that snapping your clubs is the best way to relieve stress, but sometimes it feels so satisfying. That is until you realize you actually love golf still and you know you have to replace your club.

Things You Can Say on the Course But Not Your Wife

When you’re out golfing with your buddies, things can get pretty filthy. Not only do you save all your best jokes for your golf group, but then there are common golf phrases that just naturally sound dirty. These are usually followed by the classic “that’s what she said.” We would recommend that you keep some of these phrases out of the bedroom.

Best Trash Talk in Golf

The key to winning any golf bet is to get inside your opponent’s head. Sure, your partner starts out confident enough, but after a few zingers, you are living in their head rent free. Here’s some of the best trash talk we’ve heard out there. A word to the wise – use these with caution. Sometimes it can come back to bite you if the golf gods decide you’re getting just a little too cocky for your own good.
